 Supporting Strong, Confident Readers

Reading success is essential in elementary and at WMES, it is critical that we are growing strong, confident readers. This site contains information regarding reading programs, supports and structures at our school.

 BLAST

The BLAST (Basic Literacy Acquisition Skills Time) program ensures that students in grades 1 and 2 receive the basic phonemic awareness and phonetic skills to have later reading success. Information for families about BLAST can be found on this page.
