Matthew Halton School

Matthew Halton school takes its' name from a great Canadian journalist who was proud to call Pincher Creek his home. He warned the public of the gathering Nazi storm in Europe years before it broke.

As WWII correspondent for the Toronto Star and later as head political correspondent for the CBC he was awarded the "Order of the British Empire" by King George VI. Halton was remembered as the voice that linked the people at home with our men at war. He earned international respect and admiration.
