PARENT INVOLVEMENT

Parent Involvement in school activities is an essential part of an effective school and may take various forms: (Information Booklet 2005-2006)

  •
  • Maintaining effective two-way communication with your teacher and school
  • Assisting children with their learning activities at home
  • Volunteering in school activities
  • Participating in advisory groups (e.g. school council
  • Involving the wider community in school activities

 PARENTS & COMMUNITY

Along with the parents, the community shares in the responsibility of educating the children. They are willing to “give of themselves” to the betterment of the community. The community brings to the students and teachers a sense of belonging.  They are there for support:

  • with a helping hand,
  • expertise in a field of  study,
  • to mentor and so much more.

A BIG THANKS!! to all our Volunteers

Criminal Record Check
Because we consider volunteers an important part of our school system, and the safety of children is our first concern, we ask that you have a criminal record check done prior to arriving for volunteer work.

All of our local RCMP detachments have agreed to complete these checks at no cost to you, so please contact your local RCMP detachment for the proper forms you will need to complete. When your child moves to a new school, we ask that you obtain a new record check.

We appreciate your cooperation in keeping all of your children safe.
